Movie Review: Heartthrobs in Hunger Games Trilogy Movies

Dystopian* era genre has becoming a serious outbreak! From books series gone on-screen, it became money-maker movies for Hollywood as its fandom arises. Selected actors and actress were being cast, subjects of who’s going to play whose characters were even been speculatively discussed on the internet beforehand. And when it finalized, still some of disappointments and approvals being fussed.

After reading the books, after previously watching its first two movies, i only can blame Suzanne Collins for writing such great books featuring hot men characters. They are always there tough.

When Lionsgate brought it on-screen there are only slight disapproval in me since they put not just one but four heartthrobs on it :). Love the books, like the movies, and when they featured four handsome guys on it i couldn’t ask more.

Well let’s take a brief look of these four actors now their stardoms have been rocketing since.

*Dystopia, an imaginary place where people are unhappy and usually afraid because they are not treated fairly. It’s the opposite of Utopia - Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark

Just one scruple, i don’t think Peeta Mellark that short. But my doubt replaced by his excellent portrays of Peeta Mellark, a baker boy who helps starved Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence). Aside from Kevin Zegers, Josh Hutcherson is another young actor that i’m quite familiar with during my school age.

I was first noticed him in Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005), a sequel to Jumanji (1995), along with Twilight star Kristen Stewart as his sister. It’s an entertaining children movie for me, well i like most of fantasy-family movies :).

He captivated me when he was played as Jess Aarons in Bridge to Terabithia based on children book by Katherine Paterson. Growing up i watched his act in Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) with Brendan Fraser and started to aware of his cuteness.

As an animation moviegoer i found Epic animation movie and surprisingly wasn’t aware that Nod voice was Josh’s voice alongside with Beyonce and Amanda Seyfried. See the video of Josh taking about his character Nod here.

Physically he built his body to become this blond-hunk baker boy for Hunger Games. Kinda weird actually seeing his transformation. But i was disappointed that they didn’t make his eyes as blue as it was described in the books. Now i find myself digging up his previous movies such as Little Manhattan (2005), The Kids Are All Right (2010), and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012).

Born on October 12, 1992 this American boy originally from Kentucky will continue to be featured in Mockingjay, the last sequel of Hunger Games Trilogy. To see other Josh’s movies check out his filmography here. Keep on baking Josh!
